South Whidbey WyldLife Clubs

WyldLife is the middle school ministry of YoungLife. Please look into our "About YoungLife" section to learn more about us as an organization and our mission.
2022 was the first year WyldLife was re-established on South Whidbey after a couple of years of silence, all thanks to the will of God! In 2022, South Whidbey WyldLife only met every other week, in 2023 it went up to each week, and in 2024 we are still doing it every week! Holding club each week is an important goal for us to maintain to make sure our kiddos feel like they have people who are consistent and invested in them, and to have something to look forward to at the end of each school week! I'm sure we all remember that feeling on a Thursday night after school, thinking that tomorrow was FINALLY the last day of the school week, and you were already looking forward to the weekend to relax or play! We provide dinner and/or snacks at each club. Please reach out to us with dietary restrictions through Instagram, Facebook, or message Rakeem directly!

We've done some crazy things in previous clubs. In honor of Thanksgiving in 2022, we had everyone dig through a tub full of mashed potatoes to find three coins. Everyone enjoyed it, and the winners won gift cards to their favorite places! It was a messy but exciting night that everyone refers back to every now and then! Not every club is this messy (every parent sighs in relief!), but we always try to keep it fun by bringing in new games that no one expects. As you can imagine, we'll be doing this again this Thanksgiving, but with a different twist! Unfortunately for your washing machines, gravy will still be involved. 🤣

                    



Club Dates for 2024-2025 School Year


Starting this year, we will be meeting on Thursday evenings for the first 3 weeks of each month. We are holding one Thursday each month for a leader meeting, where we vision cast, go over the previous month, and come up with more fun ideas for future clubs! Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to be updated on cancellations.

All locations are TBD. CLCC in Freeland has been gracious to let us use their space consistently, but there's a good chance we will be meeting in another location! Please follow our social media to know where we will hold clubs or keep in touch with Rakeem!

New Leaders of SW WyldLife! We are Rakeem and Alysha Heino, your WyldLife leaders! We have a son, Amir, who comes to club sometimes. We couldn't be more excited to start club this year, learn more about the wonderful kids we get to interact with, show them God's love & compassion, and the hope that there is in Him! We are so excited to have you this year! Meet our new leader as of 2024, Gabrie Wilkie! She is a wonderful addition to our team. Gabrie is very passionate about serving with our youth and developing lifelong connections with our middle school girls. Everyone loves Gabrie and we are very grateful the Lord brought her to the ministry!

Family & Ministry Update - Issue 1

HEINO FAMILY UPDATE We Bought a House! God has been very faithful to us! We became proud homeowners of a 1970s manufactured home sitting on 15 acres of land in mid-August. Some walls are painted, our guest room looks more like a storage room, and we are slowly getting things set up the way we like. Steadily, we are getting our land ready for our homesteading dreams! We have Cortunix quail and we will be proud owners of four Kune Kune piglets this upcoming Saturday. We also have a one-year-old puppy named Koda, who was a recent and unexpected addition to the farm.  As you can imagine, there are lots of things that need to get done around here. We would appreciate your prayers as we navigate through this new lifestyle of raising animals, growing our family, and managing a home! We are learning more and more about what it means to truly trust God with each aspect of our life, leaving it in His hands to guide us with all of these things.
